HC Deb 14 March 1988 vol 129 c474W
10. Mrs. Dunwoody

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport if he has any plans to change present levels of financial support for British Rail, in the light of increasing demand for rail services.

35. Mr. Snape

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport if he is satisfied that present levels of financial support for British Rail are adequate in the light of increasing demand for rail services.

Mr. David Mitchell

I have repeatedly made it clear that I shall approve any worthwhile additions to British Rail's investment programme which are needed to meet the quality standards on subsidised services.
