To ask the Attorney-General, pursuant to his answer of 22 February,Official Report, column 15, what representations he has received about possible prosecutions in relation to offences concerning alleged attempts to subvert the Government of Lord Wilson; and if he will make a statement.

The Attorney-General

Since becoming Attorney-General I have received about 100 letters from Members of Parliament and the public about the "Spycatcher" case. Several of these letters have raised the question of investigations or prosecutions in relation to the allegations to which the hon. Member refers. I have referred correspondents — and also the hon. Member — to the Prime Minister's statement of 6 May.
