To ask the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster how many Action for Cities working breakfasts will take place; where they will be held; which Ministers will be involved; how many business people will be involved; and what will be the total cost.

My present intentions are to hold six working breakfasts in Newcastle, Leeds, Manchester, Birmingham, Liverpool and London. They will be attended by my hon. Friend the Member for Northavon (Mr. Cope) — the Minister of State, Department of Employment — my hon. Friend the Member for Rossendale and Darwen (Mr. Trippier) — the Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for the Environment—my hon. Friend the Member for South Ribble (Mr. Atkins) — the Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Industry — and myself as Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster and Minister responsible for the co-ordination of Government inner city policies.

An audience of 200 to 250 senior representatives of industry and business will attend each presentation. Final costs are not yet known, but are expected to be in the region of £0.5 million.
