HC Deb 11 March 1988 vol 129 c393W
Dr. Marek

To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what plans he has for the resettlement of Vietnamese refugees in Hong Kong in the years up to 1997.

Mr. Eggar

In May last year we decided to accept into the United Kingdom over the next two years a further 468 Vietnamese refugees from Hong Kong. In parallel with our own and other countries' resettlement efforts we are pursuing, in consultation with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees and countries concerned, durable solutions to the Indo-Chinese refugee problems.
