§ Mr. MellorHer Majesty's embassy in Beirut is very active in trying to obtain information about the disappearance and whereabouts of all British hostages held in the Lebanon. We have repeatedly called upon Governments or organisations with influence over the hostage-takers to use their influence to secure the release of all those held. We are also in regular contact with other Governments, including members of the United Nations Security Council, who might be able to help.
