HC Deb 08 March 1988 vol 129 c163W
35. Mr. Latham

To ask the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will make a statement on the funding of the National Health Service in the Trent region in the forthcoming financial year.

Mr. Newton

Trent regional health authority's initial general revenue allocation will be some £1,050 million. This is a cash increase of 6 .3 per cent. (1 .7 per cent. above forecast general inflation) and will bring the region to within 3 per cent. of its target share of resources. The region will also receive £1 .16 million for the treatment and prevention of AIDS and £0 .75 million to develop breast cancer screening services. Trent's capital allocation will be over £61 million. Allocations to district health authorities are a matter for the RHA.
