HC Deb 08 March 1988 vol 129 c166W
57. Mr. Foulkes

To ask the Secretary of State for Social Services how many representations he has received concerning the decision not to pay £8 additions to recipients with two benefits on one book; from whom he has received the representations; and if he will make a statement.

90. Mr. Skinner

To ask the Secretary of State for Social Services what representations he has received seeking full reimbursement to all pensioners and other recipients of state benefits for the computer error made regarding back payments; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Scott

We have received some 670 representations about the £8 special payments exercise most of which concerned more than one benefit combined on a single order book. By no means all of the individuals concerned have been under-compensated. Most representations were made by individuals through their Members of Parliament; a small proportion wrote directly to the Department.
