Mr. David Porter

To ask the Secretary of State for Education and Science (1) how much was spent per pupil in primary schools in(a) England and (b) Suffolk in the most recent year for which figures are available; and what were the comparable figures for 1978–79 at constant prices;

(2) how much was spent per pupil in middle and high schools in (a) England and (b) Suffolk in the most recent year for which figures are available; and what were the comparable figures for 1978–79 at constant prices.
