To ask the Secretary of State for Transport when the review into the operation of the orange badge scheme of parking concessions for disabled people is expected to report; and if he will make a statement.

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport whether he has completed his review of the orange badge parking scheme for the disabled; and if he will make a statement.

[holding answer 7 March 1988]: The Department is issuing a revised leaflet on the orange badge scheme.

The leaflet is an interim measure and seeks to provide better information on the rights and duties of badgeholders under the present scheme. We hope to make a further announcement shortly on measures to improve the scheme as a result of the recent review.

Copies of the leaflet have been placed in the Library.
