To ask the Secretary of State for Social Services what progress has been made in the examination of the use of resources in the National Health Service as part of the overall review of the funding of the service.

To ask the Secretary of State for Social Services if he has any plans to reorganise the administration of the National Health Service.

To ask the Secretary of State for Social Services what consultations the Government have undertaken in their consideration of the future of the National Health Service.

To ask the Secretary of State for Social Services if the current review of National Health Service funding will compare the National Health Service with health services in other Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development countries; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Moore

The Government's review of the Health Service will be wideranging and fundamental. We shall look at all the options, including the experience of the other countries, and shall bring forward our proposals in due course. In the meantime, I shall consider carefully any representations which are made to me.
