HC Deb 08 March 1988 vol 129 c122W
Mr. Madel

To ask the Prime Minister if she will list the number of Government interdepartmental working parties not at work, with the exception of those concerned with national security; and what subjects they are considering.

The Prime Minister

Interdepartmental working parties are a normal feature of government. They are necessary to secure the requisite degree of co-ordination. Records are not held centrally. In many cases the detailed arrangements for such interdepartmental co-ordination and the matters discussed are classified and may form the basis of advice to Ministers.
