§ Mr. CohenTo ask the Secretary of State for Scotland how many subject access requests under the terms of the 135W Data Protection Act his Department has received; what was his estimate of this number; whether he is reconsidering the subject access fee charged by his Department as a result; and whether he will make a statement.
§ Mr. RifkindNo valid requests for access have been received from the general public. For forward planning, there was a working assumption of 500 requests per annum. I am not proposing to review the access fee. There have been no complaints or other evidence that the access fee accounts for the low level of interest shown.
