§ Mr. FisherTo ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether it is his intention to use the radio division of the IBA as a planning nucleus during the transition period to the new Radio Authority.
§ Mr. RentonThe IBA will continue to be responsible for carrying out the duties with regard to local radio laid on it by the Broadcasting Act 1981 until relieved of them by new legislation. In the meantime, we shall welcome advice and assistance from the IBA's radio branch in preparing for the new structure of radio broadcasting.
