§ Mr. HoodTo ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what support Her Majesty's Government are giving to the European campaign for interdependence and solidarity of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe.
§ Mr. Chris PattenThe Government support the aims of this campaign. Last November I announced a grant of up to £70,000 to the campaign: £40,000 for the United Kingdom National Organising Committee and £30,000 for the European Organising Committee (EOC). Since the inception of the campaign the Government have also met the expenses of the British representative to the EOC. On 15 February this year I addressed a round table on developing country debt organised as part of the campaign.
