(2) whether he has conducted an inquiry into the extent of foreign shareholding in TV-am over the past three years;
(3) what steps he has taken to monitor whether TV-am has been in breach of its responsibilities under the Broadcasting Act 1981 during the past three months with regard to the quality and extent of its news coverage.
§ Mr. RentonIt is for the IBA to secure that disqualified persons, including companies based or controlled from outside the European Community, do not become or continue as ITV contractors, and to judge contractors' adherence to their contracts in regard to programming. I understand that three shareholdings above 5 per cent. in TV-am may themselves have been controlled from outside the Community.
