Mr. Blair

To ask the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster (1) how much the Department of Trade and Industry will spend in the current financial year 1987–88 on advertising and promotion of the Department and its schemes;

(2) how much his Department spent in advertising and promotion in each financial year for 1978–79 to 1986–87;

(3) how much it is projected his Department will spend on advertising and promotion over the next three years.

[holding answer 3 March 1988]: Information is not readily available for expenditure, other than centrally, nor for 1978–79, on advertising and promotion of my Department.
