§ Mr. CohenTo ask the Secretary of State for Education and Science how many subject access requests under the terms of the Data Protection Act his Department has received; what was his estimate of this number; whether he is reconsidering the subject access fee charged by his Department as a result; and whether he will make a statement.
§ Mrs. RumboldUp to the end of February 1988 my Department had received a total of eight requests. This figure was in line with our expectations. The fee charged by the Department, currently £8, will be reviewed towards the end of this year.
