HC Deb 04 March 1988 vol 128 c713W
Mr. Heddle

To ask the Secretary of State for Energy what steps he is taking to make his Department's leaflet entitled "Coal Mining Subsidence Damage—A Guide to Claimants Rights" widely known.

Mr. Michael Spicer

Since the leaflet was published in May 1986 over 100,000 have been issued to prospective claimants through agencies such as the citizens' advice bureaux, libraries and local authorities, as well as the professional bodies and British Coal. My Department also deals direct with regular requests for replacements. I believe that the leaflet is well known in coal mining areas.
