Dr. ThomasTo ask the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will make it his policy to submit a memorandum to the European Parliament committee of inquiry on current United Kingdom practices for managing and packaging nuclear materials and wastes sent from the United Kingdom to Mol in Belgium and Hanau in the Federal Republic of Germany.
§ Mr. Moynihan[holding answer 1 March 1988]: No transfer of nuclear wastes from the United Kingdom to Mol or Hanau has been authorised by the Department and no request for a memorandum has been received from the European Parliament Committee referred to. Questions involving the managing and packaging of nuclear materials are for my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Energy.
