§ Mr. MaddenTo ask the Lord President of the Council if any Officer of the House, in the last five years, has booked or sought to book facilities within the House for purposes related to the Masonic order.
§ Mr. WakehamNo such purposes have been declared by an Officer of the House. In accordance with the rules of the House, such facilities should only be booked for private meetings in connection with a parliamentary subject.
§ Mr. MaddenTo ask the Lord President of the Council (1) if he will take steps to seek to make disclosure of membership of the Masonic order a requirement of the Register of Members' Interests;
(2) if he will take steps to seek to make disclosure of membership of the Masonic order a requirement of the Register of Parliamentary Journalists.
§ Mr. WakehamNo. Any consideration of changes in the scope of the Register of Members' Interests or the Register of Parliamentary Journalists would, in the first instance, be a matter for the Select Committee on Members' Interests.
