HC Deb 03 March 1988 vol 128 c679W
Mr. Dalyell

To ask the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food what forestry training is received by Agricultural Development and Advisory service advisers.

Mr. Donald Thompson

The Agricultural Development and Advisory Service employs 180 chartered surveyors who have a sound basic training in forestry and the related questions of conservation and amenity in woodlands. This training will continue to be kept up to date in co-operation with the Forestry Commission. Twenty-four of these officers have already also received further specialist training under Agricultural Development and Advisory Service policy of continuing professional development.
