HL Deb 02 March 1988 vol 494 c269WA
Baroness Carnegy of Lour

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether they have put proposals to the water industry for modifying the areas of appointed water utility companies after privatisation.

The Minister of State, Department of the Environment (The Earl of Caithness)

Earlier this year my right honourable friend the Secretary of State for the Environment sent a discussion document on water utility company functions and areas to the Water Authorities Association and the Water Companies Association. That document is now under consideration between the Department of the Environment and the industry, and does not represent policy settled in all its details. I am however placing a copy of the document in the Library of the House.
