Whether they will make a Statement on the participation of the United Kingdom in the United Nations Conference on the Law of the Sea Preparatory Committee.

The United Kingdom participates as an observer in the Unied Nations Conference on the Law of the Sea Preparatory Commission. We continue to make clear the difficulties which we see in the deep seabed mining regime as envisaged in Part XI of the United Nations Law of the Sea Convention (1982).
