§ 76. Mr. BeithTo ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if he will raise with the Soviet Government the continued imprisonment of Semyon Skalych, a Ukranian sentenced to 15 years imprisonment for writing anti-Soviet poetry.
§ Mr. MellorWe regularly make representations to the Soviet authorities on behalf of Soviet prisoners of conscience such a Semyon Skalych. My right hon. and learned Friend drew attention to their plight most recently during talks with the Soviet Foreign Minister in Moscow on 15 February.
