§ Mr. GristThere was no requirement on the Department as a consequence of the perinatal mortality initiative report to collect information on maternity service needs. However, health authorities have been invited to submit bids for central funding for essential equipment for special care baby units and have been consulted on proposals for the creation of a regional neo-natal intensive care service.
