HC Deb 02 March 1988 vol 128 cc589-90W
39. Mr. Fearn

To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealh Affairs what representations he has made to the Government of South Africa concerning the situation in Mozambique.

Mrs. Chalker

We repeatedly urge the South African Government to exercise restraint and respect the sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity of neighbouring countries. I made these points to the South African Deputy Foreign Minister during a stop-over on the way to Mozambique in November. We have since reiterated our concerns.
