§ Mrs. ChalkerMy right hon. and learned Friend has met his colleagues from the Twelve to discuss European political co-operation matters on 8 February. The Twelve issued a statement expressing concern about the situation in the Occupied Territories, reaffirming support for an international conference, and welcoming recent efforts to inject new impetus into the search for a negotiated settlement to the Arab-Israeli conflict. A copy has been placed in the Library of the House. They had a separate meeting on this subject with His Majesty King Hussein of Jordan.
The Twelve also exchanged views on East-West relations, Central America and Southern Africa. They approved the seventh synthesis report on the application of the code of conduct by Community companies with subsidiaries in South Africa, which has been forwarded to the European Parliament. A copy has been placed in the Library of the House.
