Mr. Key

To ask the Secretary of State for Social Services what was the unit cost of the Dental Estimates Board annual report for 1986–87, and if he will make a statement.

Mrs. Currie

The 1986–87 annual report of the Dental Estimates Board for England and Wales was, for the first time, in two parts.

The first part contains the board's report to the Secretaries of State and key statistics about the board's work and the general dental service. The unit cost was 99.6p. The cost of publication was met from efficiency savings at the board.

The detailed "Digest of Statistics for 1986–87", the second part of the board's report, is published as a separate document at a cost of £15 per copy.
