In 1985 and 1986, 409 and 537 parolees respectively were recalled to prison for committing further offences of some kind; but it is not known how many of these had been released on parole licence following imprisonment for offences involving violence, sex or robbery.
§ Mr. BerminghamTo ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department (1) what percentage of persons who were the subject of a prison sentence in England and Wales had re-offended within two years of the completion of the sentence, for the latest convenient period;
(2) what percentage of persons who were the subject of a period of youth custody in England and Wales had re-offended within two years of the completion of the order, for the latest convenient period.
