To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department (1) what percentage of persons placed on a probation order in England and Wales during 1985 and 1986 completed their period of supervision without a further appearance before a court;

(2) what percentage of persons placed on a community service order in England and Wales during 1985 and 1986 completed their period of supervision without a further appearance before a court.

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department (1) what percentage of persons who were the subject of a probation order in England and Wales had re-offended within two years of the completion of the order, for the latest convenient period;

(2) what percentage of persons who were the subject of a community service order in England and Wales had re-offended within two years of the completion of the order, for the latest convenient period.
