To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will list, by each health board, the average number of pay beds occupied by private patients daily in Scottish National Health Service hospitals.

Information in the form sought is not available centrally. The figures show numbers of pay beds in National Health Service hospitals in Scotland, the number of bed days available annually and the annual number of bed days occupied by private patients. Pay beds, when not occupied by private patients, are available for use by National Health Service patients.
