To ask the Secretary of State for Employment if he will make a statement on the progress of local employer networks.

§ Mr. Cope
The response from employers, employers organisations and others to this important initiative continues to be encouraging. Contracts have been exchanged for 85 networks and a further 40 are expected to be in place by the end of September.
