To ask the Secretary of State for Transport if his Department has carried out a study into the possible incorporation of conflict alert equipment into the British air traffic control system, as installed at Eurocontrol Maastricht.

This is a matter for the national air traffic service and the Civil Aviation Authority. I will draw my hon. Friend's question to the attention of the authority's chairman.

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport when flow control will be introduced into British air space; and for how long it will be a feature of the United Kingdom's air traffic control system.

Air traffic flow management in the United Kingdom is a matter for the national air traffic service and the Civil Aviation Authority. I will draw my hon. Friend's question to the attention of the authority's chairman.

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport (1) which European countries will introduce flow control procedures into their air traffic control systems in the current year;

(2) what plans are being made for co-ordinating management by European countries of air traffic flow management flow control, when it is introduced in the summer.

I understand from the Civil Aviation Authority that 12 air traffic flow management units co-ordinate on behalf of the International Civil Aviation Organisation air traffic flows at peak periods over the following European countries:
