§ Mr. Atkins[holding answer 29 June 1988]: The United Kingdom is being represented at the current International Tropical Timber Organisation (ITTO) conference by officials from the Department of Trade and Industry and the Overseas Development Administration. The United Kingdom supports the objectives of the International Tropical Timber Agreement, of which the ITTO is the administrative arm. The objectives balance conservation and trade expansion and diversification. The United Kingdom was one of the first signatories of the agreement under which ITTO was established.
