Whether they are satisfied that the Motor Vehicles Tyre (Safety) Regulations regarding remould tyres are effective and offer complete safety protection to the motorist.
§ The Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State, Department of Transport (Lord Brabazon of Tara)Remould tyres are required by government regulations to bear a British Standard marking BS AU 144b to show compliance with the standard. We have recently issued a poster for display in MoT testing stations and premises where tyres are sold, which warns motorists what to look out for when buying any kind of used tyre.
