§ Mrs. CurrieThe usage of oral tobacco products has been so far at a very low level in the United Kingdom. It has not therefore been possible to carry out epidemiological research based in this country on the health implications of these products in the way that has been done in other countries with a much larger usage. Extensive research has been carried out in this country and elsewhere on nitrosamines and their carcinogenic activity. Compounds of this type are among those considered to be responsible for the carcinogenic action of oral tobacco.
