HL Deb 29 June 1988 vol 498 c1699WA
Lord Chitnis

asked Her Majesty's Government:

When they expect to receive the report of the Wasserman Committee on the provision of forensic pathology services and whether the delay in producing the report has had any harmful consequences on the recruitment of forensic pathologists.

The Minister of State, Home Office (Earl Ferrers)

My right honourable friend the Home Secretary expects to receive the report of the working party on forensic pathology shortly. Since the working party was established, there has been no evidence to suggest that recruitment of forensic pathologists has suffered any harmful consequences. Through the efforts of the department eight forensic pathologists have been appointed, six of whom have been recruited in the past two years.
