HL Deb 29 June 1988 vol 498 c1700WA
Lord Mowbray and Stourton

asked Her Majesty's Government:

When they expect to receive Sir Godfray Le Quesne's report on the facts of the DTI's handling of matters relating to the Barlow Clowes Group.

The Secretary of State for Trade and Industry (Lord Young of Graffham)

Sir Godfray Le Quesne has assured me that he will report as soon as is consistent with the completion of a thoroughgoing inquiry. From what he has seen so far he confidently expects to report before Parliament reassembles in the autumn. Subject to there being no legal impediment, either as to content or to timing, I would propose to publish the report as soon as practicable thereafter.
