Mr. JacksonIn 1986–87, 7,405 mandatory award holders received allowances in respect of dependants. Most of these dependants are likely to have been children. Information on the number of students with children who did not receive dependants allowances (usually because of the level of the family's income) is not available. Nor is information available about discretionary award holders with children.
