HL Deb 23 June 1988 vol 498 c1044WA
Viscount Mersey

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Why no statements of guarantee on borrowing by nationalised industries and public corporations have been laid by the Treasury recently.

Lord Beaverbrook

I regret that due to failure in clerical procedures a number of statements of guarantees given by the Treasury over the past year have not been laid in the House. Some relate to temporary borrowing and have now expired. Statements for those which are still current are being laid today, along with statements for the batch of guarantees normally issued at the start of the financial year.
