HC Deb 23 June 1988 vol 135 cc713-4W
Mr. Alfred Morris

To ask the Secretary of State for Social Services what recent representations his Department has had concerning south Manchester's hospitals; what action is being taken; and when a definitive statement can be expected in regard to the matters raised by the deputation received by the Minister for Health on 13 June.

Mr. Newton

We have received representations from a number of right hon. and hon. Members.

Following my meeting with the deputation on 13 June, which included the right hon. Member, I wrote to the chairman of the South Manchester community health council on 15 June. This letter was copied to the right hon. Member. It confirmed that discussions on changes to patient services were continuing at local level and no final decision had been reached on them at that stage.
