§ Mr. RentonMy right hon. Friend the Home Secretary and my right hon. and noble Friend the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry announced on 10 June that exploratory discussions were being held with the BBC, the IBA and British Satellite Broadcasting Limited to examine the technical, commercial and financial feasibility of transferring BBC 2 and Channel 4 to DBS. These discussions are at a very early stage, and we have not reached any decisions about this approach. Before reaching any decisions we will take full account of the interests of all those concerned, above all viewers.
