HC Deb 23 June 1988 vol 135 cc643-4W
Mr. Couchman

To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer why no statements of guarantee on borrowing by nationalised industries and public corporations have been laid by the Treasury recently.

Mr. Norman Lamont

I regret that due to failure in our clerical procedures a number of statements of guarantees given by the Treasury over the past year have not been laid in the House. Some relate to temporary borrowing and have now expired. Statements for those which are still current are being laid today, along with statements for the batch of guarantees normally issued at the start of the financial year.
