HC Deb 23 June 1988 vol 135 c628W
Mr. Hind

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport if he has any plans to meet the chairman of the Civil Aviation Authority in relation to the Gatwick-Manchester-New York air route, operated by British Airways; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Channon

I have no immediate plans to meet the chairman of the Civil Aviation Authority to discuss the Gatwick-Manchester-New York air route. However, there have been complaints about the quality of service offered on this route, which I understand British Airways have undertaken to improve. Over the next few months the Civil Aviation Authority will be monitoring aspects of the performance of this service.
