§ Mr. RidleyFor 1988–89, £20 million was reserved from the total available for housing investment programme allocations to assist authorities with particularly heavy obligations under the housing defects legislation. Leicester city council's bid for extra resouces was considered carefully but the needs of certain other authorities in the east midlands were considered to be greater.
