55. Mr. Vaz

To ask the Secretary of State for Education and Science if he has yet decided whether test results at the age of seven years will be published; and if he will make a statement.

Mrs. Rumbold

As my right hon. Friend announced to the House on 7 June, we have decided that national assessment and test results for individual pupils should not be published. There will be no legal requirement for schools to publish aggregated results for pupils aged seven, but we will strongly recommend them to do so.
