HC Deb 21 June 1988 vol 135 c506W
Mr. Morley

To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland what are the numbers and geographical locations of flocks of Greenland white-fronted geese, consisting of 1 per cent. or more of the world population of this sub-species, that regularly occur in the United Kingdom outside designated or proposed special protection areas.

Lord James Douglas-Hamilton

[holding answer 15 June 1988]: I am advised by the Nature Conservancy Council that there are no such flocks regularly occurring in the United Kingdom outside areas which have already been classified as special protection areas under article 4 of EC directive 79/409 on the conservation of wild birds or areas which in the opinion of the Nature Conservancy Council meet the criteria for classification.
