§ Mr. FallonTo ask the Secretary of State for Defence whether he will make a further statement on his policy towards multilateral disarmament.
§ Mr. Ian StewartBilateral and multilateral agreements offer the only sure means for achieving equitable arid lasting arms control and disarmament measures; the recent INF treaty is a vindication of this approach. NATO's next arms control priorities of a 50 per cent. reduction in the strategic nuclear weapons of the United States and Soviet Union, the achievement of stability in conventional forces in Europe and a global ban on chemical weapons fully meet the requirement that arms control measures should maintain and, if possible, enhance security.
