§ Mr. SainsburyMarine monitoring for radioactivity around Royal Navy dockyards and in United Kingdom territorial waters is undertaken both by MOD and by MAFF, whose programme provides an independent check. Both MOD and MAFF publish the results of these surveys. The results indicate that the levels of radioactivity around the naval establishments in the United Kingdom remain very low and of no significance in radiological terms, thus confirming the effectiveness of our radiation control procedures.
