HC Deb 17 June 1988 vol 135 cc322-3W
Mr. Anderson

To ask the Secretary of State for Wales when he expects to announce his proposals for a perinatal intensive care service for Wales and the proposed role within that service of the Morriston hospital special care baby unit.

Mr. Grist

I have agreed in principle the designation of a regional perinatal intensive care centre at the University Hospital of Wales. To advise on the operational structure of the centre and its relationship with other services in Wales for new-born babies, including the need for satellite units, I am setting up an expert advisory group under the chairmanship of Professor C. E. Stroud, Professor of Child Health, King's College school of medicine and dentistry.
